Once you cross the US-MEXICO border from San Diego or El Centro, you can take one of two routes, the Ensenada route or the Mexicali route.
For the sake of safer and quicker driving make sure you take the toll roads and drive on daylight.
From mexicali is about a 2.5 hour drive and from Tijuana is about a 5 hour drive
Mexicali Route Directions
Best route if coming from
Arizona and East California
  1. Cross the Mexico border thru El Centro/ Calexico crossing gate.
  2. Take Highway 5 and head south towards San Felipe.
  3. Drive about 2 hours to San Felipe
  4. Keep driving south for about another 20 miles (about a 30 minute drive).
  5. Arrive at Coral Rock located in Ejido Matomi.
 
Tijuana-Ensenada
Route Directions
  1. Cross the Mexico border thru San Diego/ San Ysidro crossing gate.
  2. Take the toll road and Head to Rosarito. 20 min drive.
  3. Continue driving to Ensenada for about another 45 miles (40 min).
  4. Arrive at Ensenada port, and take Blvd. Lazaro Cardenas (15 min city drive for about 1 mile) until you get to Esmeralda street and turn left.
  5. Drive for about 1 mile and get to Calle Septima (7th street) and turn left again.
  6. Keep driving and look for signs for Carretera El Chinero Ensenada and take the Highway 3 to San Felipe.
  7. Drive for about 120 miles (about 2.5 hours) until you get to Intersection with Highway 5.
  8. Take Highway 5 and head south for about 30 miles until you get to San Felipe.
  9. Drive pass San Felipe and keep driving south for about another 20 miles (about a 30 minute drive).
  10. Arrive at Coral Rock located in Ejido Matomi.
